LONDON, PARIS, NEW YORK, GLASGOW

November 29th 2007

Some people like to spend their cash on a weekend break in Paris or London or even New York while others fork out for a night at the Champions League at Celtic Park, who do you think gets more for their money?

Yet again Celtic delivered the goods when it looked liked the chance had gone and it was Massimo Donati this time who fired in the winner just when I was thinking what a crap game he was having.

After the way Shakhtar Donetsk played on Matchday One I was expecting more of the same free flowing attacking football we saw that night from them but instead we got a team of spoilers who in the end got what they deserved.

As for the referee, was he the worst ever?  Maybe not quite but he was up there in the top ten worst referees we've ever had and he made Iain Brines look like a World Cup Final candidate.

Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink was given a yellow card for heading the ball and jiri Jarosik also got one he didn't deserve but the game was littered with decisions that were given the wrong way.

Jarosik scored Celtic's first but could have had two more and he has impressed me this season, he seems to have toughened up a bit more as well.

Celtic are now in control of their own destiny but a draw in the San Siro looks like what will be required to make it to the last sixteen and that will be some task given our away record, even though Milan are already through there will be players out to prove they are worthy of a place in their side.

If Shakhtar fail to beat Benfica then we are safe and the men from Portugal can still make the UEFA Cup with a win so they will be going for it.

Lee Naylor and John Kennedy were both taken off injured in the first half and while Naylor will be fine I am worried for young Kennedy who was out for three years with a knee injury.

I really hope that it's not as serious as it looked but if it is I hope at least that it isn't the same injury again, good luck John.
