A WIN AT THE NOU CAMP IS
MORE LIKELY
December 26th 2007 Football results during the festive period are notoriously difficult to predict so any bets I will be placing will be 'in play' after I see how a match is going. There are often major shocks on Boxing Day in the English Premiership so if you fancy an outsider there are a few to choose from. Aston Villa are a best priced 9/1 with Betfair to win at Chelsea while Fulham are 8/1 with Pinnacle to win away to Tottenham. When was the last time you saw a Premiership team at 12/1 to win a home match? Derby County are that price with Bet365 to beat Liverpool today. Sunderland are 7/1 to win at home to Manchester United, Portsmouth 4/1 at home to Arsenal and Bolton 9/2 away to Everton. In the SPL Motherwell are 9/1 to win at Ibrox but the biggest shock of all would come at Tannadice if Celtic managed to keep a clean sheet at odds of 7/4. A win at the Nou Camp is more likely than a clean sheet at Tannadice. It's 8/15 for Celtic not to keep a clean sheet today. To win the match Celtic are a best priced 7/10 with Expekt.com. Scott McDonald is 5/1 with Betfred to score the first goal while Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink is 11/2 with the same firm. Aiden McGeady is widely available at 10/1 and Massimo Donati is 16/1. We know that when the Bhoys go on their SPL travels they have to score at least twice if they are to win the match but that's under normal circumstances so with their current defensive problems it may take three goals to win the game and the odds for a 3-2 win is 33/1 with Coral.
