GERMAN INTERNATIONAL
AGREES TO CELTS MOVE
29th December 2007 According to the BBC, German international defender Andreas Hinkel has passed a medical and has agreed to a January transfer to Celtic. Twenty-five year old Hinkel who is a right back currently with Sevilla will be eligible to face Rangers on January2nd. Now for more serious business - there are far too many shock results at this time of year so it's unlikely I will be wasting my cash on anyone but for a bit of interest it's worth having a look at the Celtic game. The Celts are 1/6 at best with Coral and 1/10 at worst with a few others to beat lowly Gretna who almost pulled off a major shock the last time the teams met. That day it was a 2-1 win for the Bhoys with two late goals and a repeat of that score today is 11/1 with Extrabet. I suspect it will be a hard fought match and it may not be much more than a 2-0 win for Celtic, 6/1 with Skybet. Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink is 4/1 to hit the first goal (Betfred), Scott McDonald 7/2 (Betfred), Aiden McGeady 15/2 (Bet365) and Massimo Donati is 12/1 with most bookies. For anyone who can't wait until the festive period is over to put a bet on then Birmingham 10/11 to beat Fulham, Chelsea 4/9 to beat Newcastle and Portsmouth 4/6 to beat Middlesbrough look like they could provide a home win treble at just over 7/2. If you are feeling brave try a shock home win treble of Wigan 9/4 to beat Aston Villa, Everton 5/2 to beat Arsenal and Manchester City 11/4 to beat Liverpool which pays over 41/1.
