YOU COULD GET YOUR
FINGERS BURNSED
January 8th 2008 Rumours are sweeping the country that Tommy Burns is the 'new' favourite fot the vacant Scotland manager's job. While this is almost true, some of the reports are not 100% accurate. I check odds on a daily basis and Tommy Burns was in fact favourite for the job last Friday so the fact that the papers have now picked up on this four days later doesn't matter a lot as to whether he will get the job or not (just in case you think you should rush out and put your house on TB getting the job). He may well get the job but he can just as easily be a false favourite and personally I wouldn't waste my money betting on any manager getting any job. The position of Scotland manager will probably be filled by either Tommy Burns, Mark McGhee, George Burley or Graeme Souness. Update 9/1/08: The current Betfair odds are 6/4 Burns, 3/1 McGhee, 5/1 Souness (in from 8/1) and 9/1 Burley. Burley is currently available at Victor Chandler at 20/1. |
