IT'S ANOTHER MUST WIN
GAME
January 19th 2008 Celtic take on Kilmarnock today knowing they must win to keep the pressure on Rangers who play at Inverness tomorrow. Kilmarnock are often unpredictable and gained a point at Celtic Park earlier in the season but I would still expect the Celts to win. Celtic to win the match is 1/5 with most bookies and a best priced 15/2 with VC Bet for a repeat of last week's 3-0. Scott McDonald is 4/1 and Vennegoor of Hesselink 7/2 with Betdirect to score the first goal while Nakamura is 10/1 with Coral. Last week I pointed out that Chelsea were a decent price at 8/11 at home to Tottenham but amazingly they drifted to 10/11! I could hardly believe that, Chelsea at home against a mid-table team and they were offering 10/11! That was probably the best value bet of the season so far. With Leeds winning at 1/1 and Celtic with the 3-0 win at 9/1 with Ladbrokes it was a decent weekend and although I don't bet on the correct scores I hope some of you did as 9/1 was good odds considering others were offering only 4/1. It's hard to figure how last week Chelsea were 10/11 to beat Tottenham at home and this week they are 8/13 to win away at Birmingham yet there are only four points between Tottenham and Birmingham in the table! Knowing how Alex McLeish is likely to set his Birmingham team up I expect this to be a much tougher game for Chelsea this week than last so I will back them only if the odds drift. Manchester Utd are in good form at the moment and should win at Reading, 2/5 widely available. In the Scottish First Division I think Dundee can win at manager-less Clyde at 1/1 with Coral. I would have fancied Hamilton away to Partick Thistle at 6/5 but last night a rugby match was played on the Firhill pitch in pouring rain which will probably make today's game a lottery if it even takes place at all.
