THE ENTERTAINER

February 16th 2008

The recent form of midfielder Aiden McGeady has had Celtic fans rushing to buy tickets for today's game against Hearts and the match is now all but sold out.

Not since Henrik Larsson graced the hoops has there been a player who the fans have paid money to see but McGeady is now beginning to catch the eye and the troops are ready to part with their cash to watch him in action.

McGeady has the makings of a Celtic legend although it's early days yet but he will have seen how many other players have left Celtic Park and gone on to better things, only one that I can think of in recent years and only after he had achieved legend status with the Bhoys first.

The youngster signed a new four and a half year deal this time last year and if Celtic continue to pay him what he's worth, improving the deal as necessary then there's no reason for him to disappear into English Premiership mediocrity.

There may come a day when one of Europe's finest will come knocking on the door but until that day arrives he should stick to doing the business for the Celts.

Hearts have already won at Celtic Park this season and the Celts have also given then a hammering there so I won't be placing money on the outcome especially as the best price is around 1/3 for a home win.

Extrabet offer 11/1 for a 3-1 Celtic win and 50/1 is widely available for 4-2.

Scott McDonald has been first scorer on ten occasions this season and is on offer at 9/2 with Betdirect to make it eleven.

Bet365 offer McGeady at 17/2 and Nakamura at 10/1.

Today I think Dunfermline are value at home to Partick Thistle (10/11 with Coral).

East Fife, despite last week's setback should win at Dumbarton (4/7 Betfair).  Swansea should win at Port Vale (8/11 Bet365).

Bets so far.
