THE REAL MEANING OF
WINNING UGLY
February 18th 2008 Having watched the Kilmarnock v Rangers match yesterday I can understand why Rangers fans are nervous, their team was absolutely rank rotten even though they managed a 2-0 win. If you have ever wondered what was meant by winning ugly then that was a fine example - not because the Gers won without style but because the goals were scored by Cuellar and Boyd. In-house magician, JC Darcheville made the ball disappear over the bar and wide of the post and it looks like he's made a few Christmas dinners disappear as well. Kilmarnock created several chances but as they had sold their best players to their opponents they had nobody to stick the ball in the net. Rangers remain four points ahead of Celtic for now but the Bhoys are on top form and the 11/8 on offer with Stan James for a third consecutive title looks good value when you consider there are three Old Firm fixtures still to be played, two of which are at Celtic Park.
