THE GREEN SAND OF IBROX
AND THE KARATE KID
March 10th 2008 For a club that won't sell anything in a green wrapper I found it funny that the sand dumped on the Rangers pitch yesterday had been painted green. Going by the state of their pitch you'd think that they were ground sharing with a rugby team, they certainly have a few players who would do well at that game. Elbows McCulloch, Darche the Magician and The Karate Kid would all do well as egg chasers. What is it about Novo? The Karate Kid can't get through a game without having a kick at someone. His lunge at the Hibs player yesterday was more horrific than a Carlos Cuellar photo shoot and the wee shite is nothing but a nasty little thug. Novo's assault on the Hibee earned him his fourth red card since he came to Scotland to ply his trade but that is nothing compared to the number he should have had. He was once sent off against Hibs at Easter Road after a second yellow when the incident - yet another kick at a player - merited a straight red. In his very next game he had a kick at Celtic's Jackie McNamara which the referee failed to spot and then there was the incident below which was laughably described as accidental by the media and went unpunished by the referee. Accidental? Look at where his left foot is in the second from right frame then where it is in the far right frame and you can see the gap between his feet has widened as he makes sure he stamps on Stephen Pearson's neck before Pearo slides right out of reach. In Rangers' recent UEFA Cup tie in Greece Novo had a swipe at a Panathinaikos player which also went unpunished despite being right in front of the linesman.
