CELTS CAN SURGE CLEAR - WEATHER PERMITTING

March 11th 2008

Two wins this week will see Celtic go two points clear of Rangers at the top of the table.

Celtic are currently four points behind the Ibrox men but are scheduled to play twice before Rangers take on Hibs in the SPL on March 22nd.

The Celts take on Dundee United at Celtic Park tomorrow night before travelling to Fir Park to face Motherwell on Saturday.

There is now serious doubt over the Fir Park match as tonight's scheduled match between Gretna and St Mirren has already been called off and no improvement is expected in the weather this week.

My mate who lives in Motherwell and is a Fir Park veteran informed me last night that it was almost a certainty that tonight's game would be called off and that the chances of Saturday's game going ahead were very slim.

Motherwell's pitch problems are nothing new, it has been like that for as long as I can remember but having two clubs using the same pitch - one that is prone to water-logging is just madness.
