CELTIC TO THE CORE - EVEN AT NEWCASTLE

16th May 2008

When Tommy Burns was a coach at Newcastle he came up to do a coaching session with our under 14's team the night after a midweek Old Firm match.

He had been unable to watch the match due to other commitments but wanted me to tell him all the details of what had went on.

In particular he wanted to know how new signing Paul Lambert had played and said that he thought Paul would be a fantastic signing for the Celts.

He talked at great length about Celtic past, present and future and I got the impression he was not really happy at Newcastle.

When he did the coaching session with the boys he was telling them that this was how Van Hooijdonk, Di Canio and Thom did it rather than Asprilla, Barnes or Rush who were at Newcastle at that time.

The boys all thought he was great and couldn't wait to tell their mates they had been coached by Tommy Burns.
