HOLD ON JUST A LITTLE BIT LONGER

July 15th 2008

It has been reported that Celtic will now be able to sign Georgios Samaras from Manchester City for a fee of £1million.

It was originally a £3million fee but only a few days ago newspaper reports suggested that had been reduced to £2million so if it is now only £1million, Manchester City might be offering to pay Celtic to take the big Greek striker off their hands by the middle of next week.

The Celts are apparently on the verge of signing Romanian defender Gabriel Tamas from French club Auxerre for an unknown fee but £3.5million is the usual figure that appears in the press alongside the name of any player linked with a move to Celtic Park.

Also reported this morning is the news that Bobo Balde has been given a free transfer by Celtic after both parties agreed a settlement for the final year of his contract.

Celtic FC has stated that defender John Kennedy has not joined Motherwell on loan, at least not yet.
