THE GREEN BRIGADE
27th July 2008 BERWICK RANGERS 0 CELTIC 1 Celtic sent a young team over the border to take part in a testimonial for former Berwick Rangers goalkeeper and lifelong Celtic fan Gary O'Connor. The young Bhoys won the match by a goal to nil but it was a dire affair with only a couple of chances for either side in the entire game. The poor fare may have had something to do with the temperature being in the eighties and even referee Dougie McDonald looked knackered. The only real entertainment came from the bhoys of the Green Brigade on the terraces who had even brought their own fireworks. I don't normally do testimonials any more but being relatively local and just a fiver to get in I thought I may as well go along.
