IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN KYLIE
September 28th 2008 Well the song being blasted out over the tannoy at the end of yesterday's dramatic 3-2 win over Aberdeen was Let The People Sing but it should have been I Should Be So Lucky by Kylie Minogue. After taking a dramatic injury time lead Celtic then unbelievably gifted the visitors an opportunity to grab a point after a mistake by Aiden McGeady but luckily for the Bhoys the ball beat 'keeper Artur Boruc but just crept wide of his left hand post. McGeady was severely reprimanded buy Boruc who raced halfway up the park to confront him but it was in fact the introduction of McGeady after around sixty minutes which sparked the Celtic fight back from 2-1 down to 3-2 victors. For the first thirty minutes of the match Georgios Samaras was outstanding and the Bhoys fully deserved their one goal lead but then for some reason he just faded out the game and so did the Celts. Aberdeen got a grip of the match and Celtic found it very difficult to even get forward. Maloney looked lively as always but all his good work was also done in the first half hour. It was no surprise when the Dons levelled the match nor when they took the lead with a well taken free kick by Charlie Mulgrew. The former Celt was taking a throw-in a few minutes after his second goal and someone (you know who you are in 108) shouted "Mulgrew you are a f****** reject w*****!" Not the most wise of comments when the guy had levelled the scores then fired his team into the lead. McGeady was introduced on the hour mark but did little to improve things until McDonald was sent on about fifteen minutes later. Samaras was switched to the left and McGeady was sent out to the right and it was from this position that the Republic of Ireland winger set up the equaliser then the dramatic late winner. A highly entertaining game with good performances from Samaras, Vennegoor of Hesselink, Nakamura and Naylor. Not so good were Loovens, Brown and Crosas.
