THROUGH THE WIND AND
THROUGH THE RAIN
October 25th 2008 Celtic take on Hibernian at Celtic Park today and anyone hoping for a great game of football may well be disappointed as the weather forecast is for heavy rain and winds of up to eighty miles per hour. The conditions will be a leveller and the team who handles them better will more than likely win the match so the bookies odds of Celtic at 4/11 and Hibs at 10/1 are a bit wide of the mark in my opinion. Hibs fans will see the 10/1 as a good bet considering the conditions forecast but I couldn't bring myself to bet against the Bhoys. Exactly the same odds are available for Rangers' early kick-off game at Hamilton today with the home side 10/1 and the visitors 4/11. With the same adverse weather forecast for Hamilton, Rangers won't be able to play their fast flowing silky football (what??) so the Accies may be worth a punt at 10's. The advice for travellers today is leave plenty of time for your journey as there will be more traffic than usual on the M8 with Hibs fans going that way. There are also roadworks at M8 Junction 6 and hopefully disgruntled Rangers fans returning from Hamilton on the M74 at the very time Celtic fans will be heading to Celtic Park.
