LATE HARTLEY STRIKE SEALS
POINTS
November 17th 2008 Finally, Celtic produced a well below par performance yesterday but still managed to escape with the three points after a 2-1 win at Hamilton. Scott McDonald was ruled out through illness so Shaun Maloney started up front with Cillian Sheridan and that for me was the problem, not that Shaun was playing as a striker but the fact that the Celts missed his creativity from the left. Very few chances were created by the Bhoys in the entire match and Hamilton Accies can consider themselves rather unfortunate to come out of it with nothing. The home side had taken the lead with a fantastic headed goal before the Celts levelled with a Nakamura penalty kick after Cillian Sheridan had been brought down and the Accies defender red carded. The second half saw the visitors huff and puff without really threatening to score but with only three minutes left Paul Hartley fired in a superb winner to keep the Bhoys four points clear at the top of the SPL.
