CELTS IN TURMOIL (INSERT CRACKED CREST HERE)

December 18th 2008

What's going on at Celtic? I have been away in the Tardis for a few days and have returned to find that all is not well at Celtic Park.

Jiri Jarosik has been revealing that he didn't like the weather in Scotland which is hardly news to us since we were the ones paying money to watch him prance about in gloves looking all cold and girly.

Artur Boruc is being linked with a move away from Celtic as The Bhoys line up a move for Dundee United's Lukasz Zaluska who has previously stated that he wouldn't come to Celtic to be an understudy to Boruc.

Last but not least, Aiden McGeady is unhappy at being told what to do and has been suspended by the club for his troubles.

When McGeady had just burst onto the scene a bloke called Big Les from Cumbernauld who used to sit near me at Celtic Park claimed that he knew the player and that he was very very good but was rather big headed and always thought he knew best.

Whether the story is true or not I don't know for sure but I have no reason to doubt Les and Aiden has had a few run-ins with his boss since then.

McGeady's main problem seems to be keeping his mouth shut, I remember him having an on-field argument with his captain Neil Lennon at the end of a match and his fall-outs with Gordon Strachan have been well documented.

He picked up eleven yellow cards last season, most of them for dissent and who knows what's going on in those nightclub incidents, is he being picked on because of who he is or what country he plays for or is there more to it than that?

Whatever the reasons I can see no way back now for McGeady and I think his arse is out the January window but who will be willing to take him on?

I don't see Arsenal, Man Utd, Liverpool or Chelsea rushing in with a bid but Birmingham City are definitely interested.

I can't see Aiden being too keen on a move there but there are a few mediocre clubs in the Premiership who may be keen to part with £5m for his services.

Twelve months ago a fee of double that amount could have been expected but not in the current climate and not when the player is in dispute with his employer.

With things the way they are at the moment and considering McGeady's form has been well short of what he produced last season I would be inclined to let him go and anything over £5m would be a bonus in my opinion.
