BE VERY AFRAID

January 12th 2009

Football agent Willie McKay hasSir Skinty revealed that Rangers had asked him to find a buyer for captain Barry Ferguson this month although the Rangers high-heidyins are saying this is not strictly true.

Chairman David Murray had blamed McKay for unsettling Ferguson but McKay claims Rangers CE Martin Bain had asked him to find a club interested in buying the skipper and a number of other Rangers players.

Bain is insisting he did not ask McKay to find a buyer for a specific player but admitted to asking him to sound out clubs interested in Rangers players in general.

Everyone knows that Sir David Murray was once credited as saying "For every five pounds Celtic spend we will spend ten" but it looks like he has spent just a wee bit more than twice the amount Celtic have.

All that cash donated from wealthy businessmen around the world, £40m here, £10m there, has been squandered and still the European Cup which was to be won within 10 years according to quotes back in 1987, has eluded them.

Rangers fans who had been making jokes about A very worried monkeyHearts' predicament are now themselves worried about what may happen to their club.

Whip rounds have been organised by supporters in pubs and fundraising events planned for the coming months in a bid to raise the cash needed to help stop Celtic's march to ten-in-a-row.

Murray claims there is no panic but that comes from a man who doesn't even know who is taking over HBOS.

The Rangers support are not at all impressed with the way things have been going these last few years and rightly so.

They are well aware that had it not been for two last day title wins in the past eight seasons then Celtic would be going for nine-in-a-row this season.

Rangers of course have that magnificent facility which is Murray Park where many hundreds of top quality young players have come straight off the production line and into the first team, that is a blessing and had it not been for that then their plight would have been much worse ;o)

The message to Rangers fans is be afraid.
