CAPTAIN TRACKIE, GOALIE McFUD AND FORREST GUMP

April 4th 2009

Barry Feargushin - affectionately dubbed Captain Trackie after his 'workin claes' appearance in a takeaway on the night of the 6-2 thrashing will now have to be known simply as Trackie after Watty The Waistcoat stripped him of the armband and suspended him for two weeks after giving a V sign to the world during the Scotland match on Wednesday.

Feargushin and his partner in crime Goalie McFud have also been awarded the prize of not having to turn out for Scotland ever again, an award which BBC pundit Chic Young reckons does not fit the crime.

Young thinks it's unfair for the pair to be banned from playing for the national team just for giving a V sign but when fellow panellist on last night's Sportsound Stuart Cosgrove pointed out that it was an accumulation of events which earned the ban, Young was having none if it.

Chic claimed the SFA had drawn a line under last weekend's bevvying and that this was a completely different matter therefore they have effectively been banned for the V sign and nothing else.

Chico also went on to say in defence of the 'Loch Lomond Two' that "It wasn't even a get it right up you V sign, it was sneaky one" and that "It was aimed at the photographers".

Forrest GumpHmm right you are Chic, a sneaky one, only Captain Trackie, Goalie McFud and Forrest Gump would have thought that no one other than the photographers would have spotted that and that they wouldn't dare put them in the papers or show them on the telly.

I thought that Cosgrove and Young were about to come to blows, I've never heard anything like it on radio, Stuart even had a go at wee luggy Dodds but had to apologise to him publicly after the news headlines, great stuff.

Dodds revealed that he had been at the Premier League Darts in Glasgow on Thursday night when the person he was there with (?) got a call from Watty who was completely raging, not at the V sign but at the stupidity of it and the fact that the two players had disobeyed his orders after the incident the previous weekend. This disobeying of orders claimed Dodds, was the reason Watty took the action that he did.

Anyway, will the result of all this have any effect on Rangers' chances of winning the SPL tite? Yes says Chico, because their sub goalie hasn't had a first team game!

It will in fact have no effect at all, they played better when Trackie wasn't in the team so I'd expect that to be the case again and the sub goalie is irrelevant.

Celtic need only worry about their own performances and results to claim four in a row, eight wins plus a draw at Ibrox would secure that prize.

It won't be as simple as that of course and both teams will drop a good few points yet, hopefully more by them than us.

A win by a big score is what I'm looking for today from Celtic to boost the goal difference but a win of any sort will do, anything else is failure.

The Celts are 1/5 to win while Accies are 20/1 and the draw is 11/2.
